Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Biocompatibility Project Manager to support cross-functional product development initiatives focused on consumer electronics. This role partners closely with engineering, materials, product development, supplier, analytical testing, and customer safety teams to ensure biocompatible material selection and testing activities are successfully executed throughout the product development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate combines strong program management skills with a scientific or engineering background, has experience supporting consumer electronics products, and excels in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead biocompatibility activities across multiple consumer hardware development programs from concept through product launch.
• Partner with engineering, materials, product development, customer safety, suppliers, and subject matter experts to drive the selection of biocompatible materials.
• Coordinate analytical testing activities, sample submissions, laboratory schedules, and testing milestones throughout the product development process.
• Track and communicate analytical testing results, biocompatibility assessments, project status, risks, and mitigation plans to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing competing priorities and meeting aggressive deadlines.
• Collaborate with technical experts to develop, improve, and document workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and scalable project management processes.
• Facilitate communication between internal teams and external suppliers to ensure alignment on testing requirements, deliverables, and timelines.
• Monitor project milestones and proactively identify risks or blockers that could impact program schedules.
• Communicate technical findings and project updates clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product safety, testing, documentation, and operational excellence.

Must Have Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Biomedical Science, Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• 2+ years of project or program management experience in a corporate environment.
• Experience supporting consumer electronics product development.
• Experience working with biocompatibility, customer safety, material safety, or product safety initiatives.
• Basic understanding of analytical testing methodologies, including familiarity with one or more of the following: HPLC, ICP-MS, LC-MS, GC-MS
• Experience coordinating cross-functional projects involving engineering, suppliers, and technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing biocompatibility programs for consumer hardware or wearable devices.
• Understanding of product development lifecycle, program milestones, and stage-gate processes.
• Experience developing or improving workflows, SOPs, and operational processes.
• Experience working with external laboratories and analytical testing vendors.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to consumer product safety and biocompatibility.
• Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.
• PMP or other project management certification.
