Overview
The Department of Informatics and Analytics (I&A) at Dana-Farber is looking for highly motivated bioinformatics software or data engineer who is passionate about the potential for molecular data to support clinical care of Dana-Farber patients and the groundbreaking discoveries that are a product of genomic data integration and analysis. The qualified candidate will work on exciting initiatives to support a cloud-based bioinformatics platforms and other AI-enabled data products. The role will also contribute to development of data models that facilitate integration of clinical, genomic, and other relevant data types. The developed products will enable researchers at DFCI to efficiently manage their molecular and biomedical record data in the cloud environment, launch and monitor containerized data analysis workflows, and visualize the results.
The ideal candidate has strong programming and data-analysis skills, with experience in Python, Linux, cloud platforms such as AWS, and technologies including Databricks or Snowflake. Familiarity with Git-based development, Agile practices, bioinformatics workflow tools such as Cromwell or Nextflow, and AI-assisted coding tools is preferred, along with a strong interest in automation, data security, and innovation. The successful candidate is expected to collaborate with functional teams such as Software and Data Engineering, and cloud and other technology vendors.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field. Master's degree may substitute for experience.
Minimum Experience: Five years; experience may substitute for degree.
