Biologics Manufacturing Laboratory Assistant

What Your Day Looks Like
You’ll support the production of veterinary biologics in a GMP-regulated laboratory, moving between aseptic benches, cell culture areas, and production equipment. Your day blends hands-on technique with meticulous documentation—preparing media, executing inoculations, harvesting antigens and tissue cultures, and assisting with vaccine filling. Throughout it all, you’ll follow SOPs precisely, keep supervisors informed of out-of-the-ordinary events, and maintain a clean, safe workspace.
Core Responsibilities
- Execute aseptic techniques, media preparation, antigen inoculation and harvest, tissue culture preparation and harvest, and vaccine filling activities.
- Set up and operate laboratory and production equipment; prepare, clean, and sterilize glassware and instruments; maintain orderly work areas.
- Complete accurate, reliable records (charts, logbooks, and related documentation) to support GMP compliance.
- Communicate promptly about any unusual or non-routine occurrences during tasks.
- Contribute across the manufacturing cycle, including cell culture processes, using a variety of technical equipment.
- Note: Embryonic eggs are utilized for virus propagation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, or High School diploma with commensurate experience.
- GMP experience needed.
- Laboratory experience preferred (entry-level friendly); scientific background helpful.
- Cell culture experience is very helpful.
- Prior SAP experience.
- Aseptic/clean room environment experience.
- Hands-on familiarity with pH meters, UniFuge, measuring components; ability to read/follow SOPs and demonstrate aseptic behaviors.
- Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills are highly desirable.
- Physical abilities test will be required prior to being allowed to start on site.
Preferred
- Vaccine knowledge.
- Experience with a stretch of 4 – 10 hour days.
