BIOLOGIST SUPERVISOR MONROE
Biologist Supervisor-Monroe/Habitat Stewardship/WMAs
This position is a Wildlife and Fisheries Biologist Supervisor position that receives direct supervision from a Biologist Manager based in the Monroe field office. The incumbent of this position will oversee and ensure that activities on Wildlife Management Areas are enacted and completed. This position will supervise Biologists and Technicians working on assigned WMAs.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in a biological science, marine science, environmental science, wildlife or fisheries, animal science, forestry, or natural resources plus four years of experience in wildlife or fisheries, forestry, or environmental science; OR
A non-thesis masters degree in a biological science, marine science, environmental science, wildlife or fisheries, animal science, forestry, or natural resources plus three years of the required specialized experience; OR
A masters degree with a completed thesis or a doctorate in a biological science, marine science, environmental science, wildlife or fisheries, animal science, forestry, or natural resources plus two years of the required specialized experience.

JOB DUTIES
Duties may include some or all of the following:
POSITION- SPECIFIC DETAILS:
Physical demands: Moderate to strenuous physical exertion is required for such activities as climbing, lifting objects over 50 pounds, crouching, or crawling in restricted areas or in inclement weather. Weekend work, overnight stay, and early morning departure are required, as well as day and night work in boats and airboats.
Location: This position will be domiciled in Ouachita Parish.
Appointment Type: Job appointment, probational appointment, promotional, or detail to special duty.
If filled as a job appointment, there is a possibility that this position may be converted to a probational appointment should funding become available. Current permanent status classified state employees may be required to accept a probational appointment if selected.
