OVERVIEW
TITLE: Student Research Assistant
LOCATION: St. Paul Campus
PAY RATE: $16.50
HOURS: 10-15 hours per week
Job Summary: The position involves working in a biology department lab with Dr. Amy Verhoeven on projects related to photosynthetic stress acclimation. Tools used include chlorophyll fluorescence, isolation of plant pigments and HPLC analysis of them, isolation of photosynthetic proteins and western blotting. Research questions include: how do evergreen plants cope with light during winter when it is too cold for photosynthesis? Are conifers able to acclimate to low light conditions?

QUALIFICATIONS
ELIGIBILITY To be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels.
