Job Description - Summary Exciting opportunity for hands-on lab experience. This position supports the smooth operation of laboratory and teaching activities within the Science Division.

Eligibility Requirements

• Students must be enrolled in AT LEAST 6 credit hours to qualify for FWS Program.
• This is a part-time opportunity.
• Students may work up to 15 hours per week depending on their unmet need on their FASFA.

This listing is intended for students that will attend Surry Community College during the 2026-2027 academic year and have need determined by the federal government. Essential Duties and Responsibilities This position involves general lab and stockroom maintenance, including:

• Tidying and assisting instructors with preparing class demonstrations.
• Preparing documents and procedures.
• Maintaining a clean and organized lab area and equipment.
• Preparing solutions for weekly experiments.
• Creating documents, handouts, and writing questions for the online question bank.

General Qualifications

• Applicant must be at least 16 years or older.

Required Qualifications

• Applicant must have taken at least one semester of biology, chemistry, or a related discipline.
• Applicant must have the ability to work 5 or more hours/week and maintain a consistent schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

• Physical Demands: Applicant must have the ability to lift at least 10 pounds.

Work Environment

• Work Area is located in the T-Building.
• On Campus.
