Biomarker Sample Operations Manager - III

ONSITE NORTH CHICAGO IL 
Pay: $40-$45/hr

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Important: This is NOT a bench/lab-based position. The role is focused on the operational side of clinical trials—sample tracking, vendor management, data/database review, documentation, and study coordination.

Clinical trial experience – standard laboratory operations experience alone will not qualify
Biomarker/sample management OR clinical operations experience
Experience with clinical sample tracking/management
Strong Excel skills and experience working with large datasets
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain meticulous sample records
Project/operations management mindset with the ability to manage multiple studies and competing priorities simultaneously

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Manage operational activities across multiple clinical studies—potentially up to 12 studies simultaneously
• Coordinate with multiple vendors, potentially 7–10 vendors per study
• Support end-to-end clinical sample tracking and shipment coordination
• Manage vendor communication and follow-up
• Track clinical samples including blood, plasma, serum, PBMCs, tissue and FFPE
• Perform metadata, database and sample-availability reviews
• Review and maintain study-related documentation
• Support sample disposition activities
• Work closely with Clinical Operations, biomarker scientists, vendors, and project/program managers
• Pull and reconcile information from enrollment and sample-availability databases

HIGHLY DESIRED

• Oncology clinical trial/sample experience
• Sponsor-side clinical research experience
• CRO experience is also considered
• CRA/CRM backgrounds may be relevant when accompanied by strong sample operations experience

Ideal profile: Master’s degree with approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience
