    Job Summary

    Responsible for the advanced troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and maintenance of biomedical equipment. This role involves leading maintenance projects, mentoring junior technicians, and collaborating with medical and IT teams to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The BMET III provides technical expertise, oversees installations, and plays a key role in medical device integration.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Degrees/Work Experience:

    • Associates Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Electronics or related field AND Five (5) years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and repair or equivalent military training

    OR

    • HS/GED AND Seven (7) years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and repair or equivalent military training

    License & Certifications:

    Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) certification preferred.

    Communication Skills:

    Above Average Verbal Communication (Heavy Public Contact)

    Other Requirements:

    Experience with medical device networking, IT integration, and cybersecurity.

    Advanced knowledge of regulatory compliance, including FDA, NFPA, CMS, and AAMI standards.

    Expert-level troubleshooting and repair of biomedical equipment.

    Familiarity with advanced diagnostic tools and software.

    Understanding of hospital IT infrastructure and device connectivity.

    Proficiency in medical equipment asset management systems.

    In-depth understanding of electronic circuits, mechanical systems, and imaging technologies.

    Advanced problem-solving skills for diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues.

    Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and network configurations.

    Strong leadership and project management skills.

    Ability to work independently and handle high-pressure situations.

    Commitment to patient safety and adherence to regulatory standards.
