Job Description

Position Overview
Viakorp Corporation is seeking a qualified Biomedical Engineering Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on medical equipment at VA facilities. The technician will ensure equipment is maintained, repaired, tested, and documented in accordance with OEM standards.

Location: Multiple VA Medical Centers and Outpatient Clinics throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, and Montana. Travel between assigned facilities is required based on service needs. Authorized travel expenses are reimbursed in accordance with Government travel policies

Job Type: Part-Time

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM (Occasional overtime may be required based on operational needs)

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on medical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment issues.
  • Follow OEM maintenance and repair procedures.
  • Test equipment before returning it to service.
  • Complete Field Service Reports and work order documentation.
  • Coordinate with VA Biomedical Engineering staff and the COR.
  • Travel to assigned VA facilities as needed.

Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electronics, IT, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of biomedical equipment repair experience.
  • Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and troubleshoot electronic/mechanical systems.
  • Ability to pass VA fingerprinting and background verification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET).
  • OEM manufacturer training and certifications.
  • Previous experience supporting Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense, or other federal healthcare facilities.
  • Experience servicing diagnostic imaging, patient monitoring, anesthesia, infusion, laboratory, or respiratory care equipment.


Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 pounds.
