Biomedical Equipment Specialist – Sterilizer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Biomedical Equipment Specialist with strong expertise in sterilizer systems to support healthcare facilities across the Boston and New Hampshire region. This role serves as a subject matter expert for sterilizer equipment and advanced healthcare technology systems.

The ideal candidate is highly technical, independent, and comfortable traveling between facilities to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain critical clinical equipment. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent documentation practices, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the subject matter expert for sterilizer systems across assigned healthcare facilities.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain sterilizers and advanced clinical equipment.
• Perform service work in accordance with manufacturer standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support maintenance strategies that improve equipment performance and clinical operations.
• Maintain accurate service documentation, records, and reports.
• Work independently while communicating effectively with facility leadership and technical teams.
• Share technical knowledge across the region as a modality expert.
• May provide technical guidance to biomedical equipment technicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience maintaining and repairing clinical equipment in a healthcare environment.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in electronic, mechanical, or electro-mechanical repair within a healthcare technology setting.
• Advanced technical experience with sterilizer systems.
• OEM training on Steris and/or Getinge equipment strongly preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining advanced clinical equipment.
• Knowledge of healthcare technology management, biomedical devices, and clinical equipment service standards.
• Strong planning, organization, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
• Ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned region.
