Careerscape is placing Biomedical Research Interns on behalf of our client, a biotechnology company based in Boston's Longwood Medical Area. This internship offers undergraduate and graduate students direct exposure to translational research workflows, including assay development, sample processing, and data collection in a regulated laboratory environment.
Interns will work alongside senior scientists and research associates on active projects spanning oncology and immunology pipelines. The role is structured to provide meaningful technical contributions rather than administrative support, with interns assigned to specific project teams for the duration of the engagement.
This is a paid, full-time internship running approximately 10–12 weeks. Candidates should be available to work standard laboratory hours on-site in Boston. Housing assistance is not provided, but the position is accessible via public transit on multiple MBTA lines.
Responsibilities
Assist with cell culture maintenance, including passaging, freezing, and thawing of cell lines
Prepare reagents and buffers according to standard operating procedures
Conduct ELISA, Western blot, and PCR assays under direct supervision
Record experimental data accurately in electronic lab notebooks
Support analysis and visualization of experimental results using Excel or GraphPad
Maintain laboratory inventory and flag reagent reorder needs
Participate in weekly team meetings and present progress updates
Assist with literature reviews to support ongoing research projects
Requirements
Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
Completion of at least two laboratory science courses with hands-on lab components
Familiarity with basic molecular biology techniques
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written protocols precisely
Availability to work 40 hours per week on-site for the full internship duration
Ability to work in a team environment and communicate clearly with senior staff
Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
GPA of 3.0 or above preferred
