Job Title: Biostatistician

Division: Neurology

Work Arrangement: Remote within Texas

Location: Houston, TX

Salary Range: $70,618 - $83,080

FLSA Status: Exempt

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Summary

The Department of Neurology at Baylor College of Medicine is looking for an experienced Biostatistician to support incoming faculty Dr. Ihab Hajjar. This position will assist with study design, data collection and management, and statistical analyses related to study reporting and hypotheses.

Job Duties

  • Perform statistical analyses and computations using appropriate methodologies.
  • Interpret findings and provide clear, actionable insights to research teams.
  • Develop graphical and tabular representations of data for reports and presentations.
  • Prepare statistical sections of manuscripts, reports, and publications.
  • Address reviewer comments and revise statistical content as needed.
  • Develop, maintain, and modify statistical programs for internal use.
  • Support data organization, integrity, and quality control processes.
  • Collaborate with Principal Investigators (PIs) to identify research problems and provide statistical consultation.
  • Design experiments, surveys, and studies to ensure methodological rigor and validity.
  • Collaborate with PIs on grant proposal development.
  • Design statistical approaches for proposed studies and prepare statistical sections of submissions.
  • Explain statistical concepts using non-technical language for diverse audiences.
  • Provide practical examples to improve understanding of statistical methods.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Biostatistics or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD in Biostatistics, Statistics, or related field.
  • Experience with statistical software (e.g., SAS, R, SPSS, Python).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
