Job Title: Blackstone Private Real Estate Credit and Income Fund (BREC) Finance, Vice President

Job Overview

The BREC Finance Vice President will play a senior role in the accounting, finance, and reporting activities of BREC. BREC is a private business development company (BDC) and ’40 Act fund that invests in loans and securities backed by commercial real estate. The Vice President will oversee core financial reporting and close processes, review deliverables prepared by internal and external teams, and help communicate financial results to senior business stakeholder. The role will partner closely with portfolio management, investments, operations, investor relations, legal, compliance, treasury, fund administrators, the transfer agent, and internal and external auditors.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting judgment with hands-on execution, team leadership, and stakeholder management. The role will be responsible for developing junior professionals and driving accurate, timely, and investor-ready reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Review accounting and financial reporting deliverables from and work directly with fund administrators, and other service providers to ensure accuracy, completeness, and conformity with applicable accounting standards and BREC policies.
• Lead and oversee the preparation and review of monthly NAV packages (including publication of monthly NAV per share to investors), quarterly and annual reporting, regulatory filings as applicable (such as quarterly 10-Qs/annual 10-K), and materials for BREC’s Audit Committee and Board of Directors.
• Understand new investments, financing arrangements, capital activity, and other transactions, and evaluate applicable accounting guidance.
• Partner with portfolio management, legal, compliance, treasury, and other internal stakeholders to monitor liquidity, maintain financial models, and support compliance with financial and regulatory covenants.
• Oversee the review of monthly subscription, distribution, and redemption activity prepared by the transfer agent, including related reconciliations and cash movements.
• Lead or support ad hoc financial analysis and cross-functional projects for senior management, the Audit Committee, and the Board.
• Own the coordination of internal and external audit activities.
• Maintain an effective internal control environment (SOX compliant), including documentation, review controls, process improvements, and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Manage, coach, and develop junior team members; set priorities, review work product, and promote consistent execution across internal and offshore or third-party resources.
• Drive process improvements, automation, and system implementations that strengthen controls, shorten reporting timelines, and improve data quality.

Qualifications:                                                                                      

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intellectually curious, demonstrate sound judgment, and have a record of excellence in prior endeavors. The successful candidate should have:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance; an active CPA license is strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of relevant work experience (public/private accounting mix preferred)
• Experience in financial services, business development companies, investment management, lending, and/or real estate.
• Experience with SEC registrants, regulated investment vehicles, or comparable public-company reporting and control environments is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience researching and concluding on complex accounting and reporting matters.
• Experience overseeing monthly and quarterly closes, financial statement preparation, audits, internal controls, and third-party service providers.
• Experience managing and developing professionals, prioritize competing deadlines, and maintain high standards of accuracy and accountability.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and an interest in process automation and systems improvement.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, presents complex matters clearly to senior finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Expected annual base salary range:

$150,000 - $250,000

Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications and job location. For roles located outside of the US, please disregard the posted salary bands as these roles will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.

Additional compensation and benefits offered in connection with the roleconsist of comprehensive health benefits, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and FSA benefits; paid time off; life insurance; 401(k) plan; and discretionary bonuses. Certain employees may also be eligible for equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone’s sole discretion.
