Pay Range: $18.00-$22.00- based on experience

Shift: 1st (6 AM- 4:30 PM, Monday- Thursday, 10 hours)
Job Description:Prepares substrate surfaces on fabricated metal piping, tanks, and other structures for coating by pressure blasting.
Summary of Major Responsibilities/Duties:
Abrasive blasting of pipe, structural steel, and machined parts
Masking/taping and capping of pipe spools
Light maintenance of blast equipment
Fill out necessary paperwork for each piece, making sure it stays with the material as it goes from blast to paint
Upkeep of helmet, cape, and belts as they are used
Keep finished material organized in the prep area
Ability to be trained on a forklift, tug, overhead crane, and tractor
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
Cleaning and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE’s).
Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
Conducts work safely and follows all safety procedures. Rejects work that is not safe and discusses the situation with supervisor.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and/or up to one-month experience and/or training.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine paperwork.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
