Blaster

The Blaster is responsible for abrading surfaces of metal or hard composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart a specified finish.Responsibilities and DutiesRemove dirt, paint, grease, and other built - up material from surfaces.Set up and operate a blast booth or similar equipment.Load and unload the blast cabinet.Assist with painting or coating as needed.Apply and remove non - skid materials as needed.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED certificatePrevious sandblasting experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Must have a current C-7 certificationMust have or be able to obtain a secret clearanceExperience working with or removing heavy metals a plus.Familiarity with power toolsRequirementsAdapts to changes in the work environment; Changes approach or method to best fit the situation; Able to deal with change and delays.Follows rules and sets a good example by consistently adhering to appropriate work guidelines; follows organizational plans and guidelines so that objectives can be accomplished.Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.Demonstrates a basic understanding of all job knowledge skills, procedures and processes.Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions, Uses equipment and materials properly.Physical RequirementsProlonged periods of standing and walkingMust be able to lift 45 pounds at timesManual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises.
