Bleacher Report Assistant Editor / Writer

Our client, a Mass Media and Entertainment company, is looking for a Bleacher Report Assistant Editor/Writer for their Remote location.
 
Responsibilities:

• Work with Assignment Editors/Writers to update existing news stories and to create new reports.
• Create high-visibility pieces of content around sports' biggest events, on-field action and off-field issues.
• Follow protocol to meet demands of deadline-driven operation that works closely with Bleacher Report's Programming and Editing departments to create clean, engaging, accurate and timely content.

• Bleacher Report’s news desk is looking for a temporary writer/editor to assist with daily content production and editing.
• The candidate should have experience in sports media/journalism and will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with expertise in a range of sports.
• Bleacher Report is the site of choice for the next generation of sports fans, engaging millions of users every month with its comprehensive, insightful, and entertaining content.
• Examples of previously published content.
• 1+ years; Portfolio or other examples of content published for Sports outlets.
• Active and responsive communication skills.
• 1+ years; We work in a deadline driven production environment.
• Fluency in Sports knowledge
• 1+ years; Expert-level knowledge of one or a few priority leagues: NFL, NBA, WNBA, MLB, NHL, soccer, college football/basketball.
• Strong knowledge of a wide variety of sports, with some in-depth specialties.
• Ability to write about all aspects of sports on and off the field.
• Ability to write quickly and cleanly, according to AP style.
• Ability to navigate social media for newsworthy reactions to sports events.
• Comfort in online publishing and word-processing systems.
• 1-3 years relevant experience in digital sports media.
