BLENDER ASSOICATE - 2nd Shift
 
 
POSITION SUMMARY

To perform all applicable quality assurance duties, including but not limited to blending syrup, receiving syrup, record keeping, and filler and water system maintenance. 

 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
          
  • Operate equipment that blends raw materials to create beverage products to exact specifications.
  • Responsible for weighing, measuring, staging and mixing ingredients to standards.
  • Perform routine tests to ensure resulting mixture meets specified properties and consistencies. 
  • Performs periodic sampling of products as they are being bottled/canned to ensure continuous meetings of standards including product quality, fill levels, labeling, freshness dating, and container integrity.
  • Records test data and communicates modifications to the manufacturing process to eliminate any irregularities.
  • Keep daily records of tests performed and results.
  • May be required to periodically deep clean and sanitize blending/filling equipment and production lines.
  • Operate forklift to move raw materials and finished product. 
  • Enter blend data into computer and start syrup batch. 
  • Dissolve ingredients and sample batches.
  • Receive sugar trucks and verify paperwork. 
  • Operate blending computer, filling and dump valve controls at syrup, can or bottle line. 
  • Enter required sanitation into computer, make physical pipe connections, and monitor sanitation. 
  • At the filler, troubleshoot foaming issues and valve maintenance.  Polisher maintenance. 
  • Clean equipment and area before, during, and after shift. 
  • Inspect machinery for broken, loose, or potentially harmful items.  
  • Expediate repairs to equipment, working with maintenance as necessary. 
  • Keep daily records of downtime and machine operations. 
  • Ensure that the product and/or supplies are being handled in a sanitary method consistent with GMP’s and properly packaged.
  • Maintain clean work area through good housekeeping practices. 
  • Work well with others in a team-orientated atmosphere.
  • Other related duties as assigned
 

A Blender Associate will be promoted to a Blender once he/she can independently perform all aspects of the blender role including but not limited to: batching, changeover, testing, sanitation and maintenance.


REQUIREMENTS
 
  • 18 years or older
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Ability to operate a forklift (if position requires).
  • Must be able to read and write
  • Complete math calculations and conversions
  • Must posses thorough understanding of plant machinery.

  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance.

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Excellent attention to detail/accuracy and multi-tasking skills. 
  • Must be self-motivated and can work with minimal supervision. 
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
 
  • Must be physically and mentally able to successfully perform the essential elements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • The ability to hear, talk, understand, and distinguish speech and other sounds.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. 
  • Vision requirements to do this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. 
  • Must be able to use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, moving, and manipulating materials and parts.
  • Must be able to safely lift 25-40 pounds on repeatedly over a 10-12 hour period.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of various types of materials and parts.
  • This position requires walking or standing most of the time during the shift. 
  • Must be able to climb onto and off of machinery and forklift throughout the shift (8-10 hours per day).
