Blending Operator

Job Title: Blending Operator

Location: New Kensington, PA (Onsite)

Employment Type: Full-time

Position Purpose:
The blending operator should handle all chemical and blending, including raw materials, slurries, and coolants, for the purpose of supplying finished solutions to gallon-, drum-, and bulk-filling operations.

Duties, Tasks, And Responsibilities:

• Ensures all requirements for maintaining a safe workplace are followed (PPE, rules & policies, applicable government regulations, etc.)
• Drive safety standards for the team through 6S methodologies
• Responsible for all blending activities, including slurries and coolants.
• Ensures all applicable paperwork/documentation is accurately completed
• Documents chemical raw material usage/lot numbers on batch sheets
• Receives bulk chemicals and raw materials, including tanker trucks, rail cars, and barges
• Assists in investigation of out-of-specification materials
• Maintains the blending area in an orderly condition
• Encourage a team-oriented and eager-to-learn mindset
• Takes initiative and shares process improvements
• Assists in various ad hoc projects
• Other duties as assigned

Education, Skills, and Abilities:

• Merchant Mariner Document license is required for barge unloading
• High school diploma or GED required
• Valid driver’s license
• Forklift certification a plus
• Ability to effectively lead employees in a manufacturing environment
• Proficient PC skills, including MS Word and MS Excel
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to effectively handle group and individual work assignments
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Understanding of written instructions and ability to complete assignments efficiently
• Good judgment and decision-making
