The City of Topeka is seeking two hard-working individuals to serve as Blight Abatement Workers in the Public Works department. This position supports the City's efforts in cleaning up and maintaining public spaces to improve the City's appearance and quality of life. This is a year-round, full-time position working 40 hours a week in all types of weather conditions.
Position hours: 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. May occasionally require working nights, weekends and holidays to include 12-hour shifts.
What you'll do:
Minimum qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Must possess and maintain a valid Kansas driver's license and city-insurable driving record. Up to one year of experience in performing semi-skilled building, mechanical, construction, or grounds maintenance tasks is preferred.
Entry rate of pay: $17.17 per hour
