Description & Requirements
As a Support Specialist with Bloomberg On-Site Support (BOS) in Seattle, you will provide high-touch technology support for Bloomberg colleagues in our Seattle newsroom and Bloomberg clients throughout the Seattle area. This is a visible, client-facing role for someone who combines strong technical skills with exceptional customer service, sound judgment, and personal ownership. We are looking for someone who can work confidently and independently, build trusted relationships, understand the business behind a request, and take responsibility for driving issues through to resolution. The role includes workplace technology, Bloomberg technology, endpoint and connectivity support, implementations, Order Management activity, and partnership with teams across the firm. For the right person, this is an opportunity to take real ownership of an environment, become Bloomberg's trusted onsite BOS presence in Seattle, and build a long-term career.
The Role
We are targeting someone with approximately 2 to 5 years of relevant experience who has a strong technical and customer-service foundation and is ready for broader responsibility.
This is not a senior engineering position or a traditional scripted support role. The ideal candidate has progressed beyond entry-level support, demonstrates initiative and good judgment, and wants to continue growing across technology, clients, and Bloomberg's business.
We'll trust you to:
+ Deliver high-touch technical support to Bloomberg clients and colleagues.
+ Build strong relationships with News, office stakeholders, clients, and partner teams.
+ Take ownership of issues through resolution.
+ Work independently, prioritize effectively, and know when to collaborate or escalate.
+ Troubleshoot Windows, Mac, mobile, hardware, application, and connectivity issues.
+ Support Bloomberg installations, upgrades, implementations, and Order Management activity.
+ Apply working knowledge of networking and workplace technology.
+ Partner effectively with News, Sales, Engineering, Facilities, Employee Technology Support, vendors, and other teams.
+ Understand the business need behind a technical request and help determine the right solution.
+ Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
You'll need to have:
+ Approximately two to five years of IT Support, Desktop Support, Field Support, Endpoint Support, or related experience.
+ Strong customer-service and communication skills.
+ Experience supporting Windows environments with working knowledge of Mac and mobile devices.
+ Strong troubleshooting and critical-thinking skills.
+ Familiarity with networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, Wi-Fi, VPN, LAN, and WAN.
+ Experience supporting modern workplace technology and peripherals.
+ Strong ownership and the ability to work effectively with limited day-to-day supervision.
+ Sound judgment and the ability to manage competing priorities.
+ Confidence engaging with clients, colleagues, and business leaders.
We'd love to see:
+ White-glove, executive, newsroom, or highly client-facing support experience.
+ Broad onsite or field-support experience.
+ Exposure to Intune, Jamf, or other endpoint-management tools.
+ Experience with device provisioning, authentication, infrastructure support, or implementations.
+ ITIL, CompTIA, Microsoft, Apple, or Cisco certifications.
+ Examples of independently solving problems, taking initiative, or improving a process.
