A full-time university staff position is available in Blugold Central beginning September 8, 2026. The working title for this assignment is "Blugold Central: Financial Specialist II" with an official title of "Financial Specialist II". This is an expected-to-continue assignment, which requires a six-month probationary period. The expected hourly pay will be between $21 and $22 based on experience. The work schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 7:45 am to 4:30 pm.
DUTIES: The Financial Specialist II plans, analyzes, and coordinates specialized financial activities in the Bursar's office. The work involves verifying, troubleshooting, and correcting information; review, analysis, and reconciliation of discrepancies; interpretation of applicable federal, state, institutional, and program-related rules and regulations; and safeguarding institutional compliance and security. The Financial Specialist II may be responsible for analyzing and coordinating operation of student financials for direct application and remittance of financial aid; reviewing, analyzing, and reconciling accounts receivables for specific loans or benefit programs; applying payments, waivers and benefit disbursements to student and/or bank accounts; processing, invoicing and receiving 3rd party provider payments; opening/closing the Cashier's Office; providing input and requests for creation of queries to prepare reports for audit trails; collections; or other specialized financial activities. In all instances, the Financial Specialist II is dedicated to quality customer service and acts in alignment with the Blugold Central customer service standards, appreciating the relationship between reliable and accurate work done in a customer-service focused manner, and the University's recruitment and retention efforts.
