Job Summary

BMC2 is a collaborative consortium dedicated to improving the quality of care and outcomes in patients who undergo cardiovascular procedures across the State of Michigan. BMC2 is developing a new Heart Failure Quality Improvement Program, which will take a population health-based approach to measuring outcomes and improving quality of care for patients with heart failure. The new program will bring together diverse stakeholders including patients, specialists, primary care physicians, and pharmacists. Support for BMC2 is provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan and Blue Care Network as part of the BCBSM Value Partnerships Program.

BMC2 is seeking an experienced Community Engagement Manager to lead the planning, launch, and implementation of BMC2-HF's engagement and patient-support strategies. This position will manage a portfolio of complex, interrelated projects designed to build stakeholder trust, promote adoption, support data quality, improve the patient experience, and translate registry participation into measurable improvements in care.

The manager will develop project plans, establish milestones and success measures, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage risks and dependencies, monitor deliverables and resources, and report progress to program leadership and external partners. The role will also lead community partnerships, patient and caregiver engagement, stakeholder education, planning for a statewide heart failure symposium, and fulfilling other duties as assigned.

This position reports to the BMC2 Administrative Director and works collaboratively with core program leadership, clinical experts, patients and caregivers, participating sites, community organizations, external partners, vendors, and members of the BMC2 team. The manager will supervise two engagement team staff members, including staff supporting patient and community engagement, and may direct the work of additional project contributors, consultants, or vendors.

Responsibilities*

Project Management

• Lead a portfolio of complex engagement, education, communications, community-partnership, and implementation projects, translating strategic goals into clear plans, timelines, roles, budgets, deliverables, risks, and success measures.
• Manage the execution of workflow handouts, implementation tools, presentations, reports, infographics, signage, awareness materials, and other stakeholder-facing deliverables.
• Coordinate staff, clinical and operational teams, vendors, and partners across concurrent workstreams; monitor performance, resolve barriers, communicate progress, and use data and lessons learned to drive continuous improvement.

Building Relationships

• Build relationships with stakeholders and incorporate their perspectives into program plans, clinical workflow resources, educational materials, and quality improvement priorities.
• Engage clinical teams, patients, caregivers, and community organizations to identify needs, strengthen collaboration, and support inclusive participation.
• Oversee patient, caregiver, and community partnerships - including advisory groups and structured feedback loops - to address barriers, connect people with resources, and integrate lived experience into program decisions.

Engagement Strategy

• Develop and implement a comprehensive engagement strategy that builds trust, promotes program adoption, and supports the collection and use of high-quality registry data.
• Lead the development and delivery of stakeholder-specific educational campaigns and implementation resources, ensuring materials are accurate, practical, accessible, and appropriate for audiences with varying levels of clinical, technical, and health literacy expertise.
• Translate registry data and quality improvement findings into actionable information that participating teams can use to improve care, and evaluate engagement reach, participation, adoption, satisfaction, and impact.

Required Qualifications*

• Bachelor's degree in public health, health administration, community engagement, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• More than eight (8) years of relevant experience in project leadership, program management, communications strategy, stakeholder engagement, community engagement, patient engagement, health care, public health, quality improvement, or a related field.
• Experience building relationships with diverse stakeholders, including clinical teams, administrators, patients, caregivers, community partners, and external organizations.
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Experience supervising, mentoring, or directing the work of staff or project teams.
• Demonstrate the following skills: Integrity, strong initiative, problem-solving, high reliability, ownership and accountability, flexibility and resiliency, customer service focus, and organized/task-oriented
