BMG Electrician L3 / Channelview, TX

DEPARTMENT: MAINTENANCE - MECHANIC / ELECTRIC
Purpose
Performs electric and electronic advanced maintenance inspections, diagnosis and corrective actions, performing systematic analysis of problems and improvement opportunities, in a safe and efficient manner according to applicable procedures and best practices, complying with defined quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Commit with health, safety and environmental policies and notify situations that present potential risk.
- Ensure product quality complying with defined standards and reporting deviations.
- Carry out duties in an efficient manner meeting productivity and efficiency standards in accordance with minimum costs.
- Perform activities according to applicable procedures.
- Complete and update all applicable records ensuring information accuracy and product traceability.
- Ensure proper use of the company assets, detecting and reporting malfunctioning.
- Attend and collaborate in training activities in ordered to maintain and increase the company knowledge.
- Proactively suggest improvements and participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain a clean and ordered workplace.
- Perform activities understanding their consequences on the global process.
- Abide by Tenaris discipline norms.
Main Activities
- Diagnose and repair issues with motor controls, including contactors, starters, overloads, relays, and associated wiring.
- Troubleshoot and maintain Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), including parameter adjustments, fault code interpretation, wiring checks, and drive replacements
- Troubleshoot faults in PLC controlled machinery by checking field devices, wiring and voltages to trace input to output paths.
- Bend, install, and run various types of conduit (EMT, rigid, PVC, flexible) using hand and power benders to precise measurements and codes.
- Pull wire, terminate connections, and install electrical components, panels, junction boxes, and fixtures in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and National
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections, testing, and documentation on electrical equipment to minimize downtime.
- Use multimeters, megohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools to test continuity, voltage, current, insulation resistance, and component functionality.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, one-line diagrams, and equipment manuals to support troubleshooting and installations.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams, engineers, and production personnel to resolve equipment issues quickly and safely.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and maintenance activities.
