Position Overview

We are seeking a BMS/EPMS Development Engineer focused on building and supporting HMI/SCADA systems for mission-critical infrastructure (data centers, critical utilities, etc.).

This role is heavily centered on remote system development, HMI graphics engineering, and controls integration, with a primary focus on:

  • Niagara 4 (N4) HMI/GUI development
  • Honeywell SCADA/BMS system configuration and integration
  • Programming and integrating systems that monitor temperature, pressure, flow rate, humidity, level, and other environmental/process variables

The ideal candidate is strong in software + controls, not just commissioning-someone who can architect, build, and support scalable visualization and control platforms remotely.

Key Responsibilities

  • HMI / Front-End Development
  • Design, develop, and standardize Niagara 4 (N4) HMI screens, dashboards, and navigation structures
  • Build operator-focused interfaces including:
  • Equipment views (AHUs, chillers, CRAC/CRAH, hydronic systems)
  • System dashboards (plant-level, building-level views)
  • Alarm views, trend visualizations, and diagnostic interfaces
  • Implement consistent HMI standards (naming conventions, tagging, graphics templates, UX flow)
  • SCADA / BMS System Development

Configure and support Honeywell SCADA/BMS platforms, including:

  • Alarm configuration and prioritization
  • Historical trending and data logging
  • System-level visualization and reporting
  • Integrate Niagara front-end with underlying control systems and supervisory data layers
  • Controls / PLC Programming & Integration

Modify, configure, and troubleshoot PLC/control logic supporting:

  • HVAC systems
  • Cooling infrastructure
  • Utility/process systems

Ensure accurate system representation of field instrumentation including:

  • Temperature sensors
  • Pressure transmitters
  • Flow meters
  • Humidity sensors
  • Control valves / VFDs
  • System Integration & Data Flow
  • Perform point mapping, tagging, and database structuring between field devices and SCADA/BMS platforms
  • Configure communication across protocols such as:
  • BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP
  • Modbus TCP/RTU
  • Ensure clean, reliable data flow from field devices PLCs SCADA/HMI
  • Testing, Validation & Remote Support

Execute and support:

  • System validation and functional testing
  • Trend analysis and alarm verification
  • Remote troubleshooting of system issues
  • Support commissioning teams remotely by validating graphics, data accuracy, and system responses
  • Participate in FAT/SAT support from a development/system standpoint (not field execution

Required Qualifications

  • 3 7+ years of experience in BMS/SCADA/HMI development or controls engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Niagara 4 (N4) HMI/graphics development
  • Honeywell BMS / SCADA systems
  • Experience programming or modifying PLC/controls logic (Niagara or Honeywell, Rockwell, Siemens, or similar) Understanding of instrumentation and systems measuring:
  • Temperature, pressure, flow, humidity, level, etc.
  • Experience with building automation or mission-critical infrastructure systems
  • Working knowledge of communication protocols:
  • BACnet, Modbus, OPC

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting data center or mission-critical environments (high availability, redundancy systems)
  • Exposure to additional platforms such as Ignition SCADA or other EPMS systems
  • Experience developing scalable HMI templates/standards across multiple sites
  • Familiarity with networked controls environments and system architecture
