Board Repair Technician

Overview Performs tasks associated with the testing, diagnosing, repair, and/or refurbishment of laptop PC circuit boards. This includes techniques associated with hand soldering, surface mount, and BGA rework. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: Test, troubleshoot, and diagnose laptop / notebook PC circuit board failures Replace and/or repair faulty components using solder techniques including but not limited to through-hole, surface mount, and high temperature soldering Conduct testing and troubleshooting functions with the assistance of information in the form of written or verbal descriptions/diagrams Conduct engineering change orders with minimal quality defects Perform data input of required material Perform quality inspections for all completed processes Read and interpret schematic diagrams and technical manuals Research and order parts required for individual repairs Provide feedback to supervisors of any observed trends or unusual failure conditions Miscellaneous daily tasks including extensive PCB testing and/or clean-up activities Requirements: AA/AS degree in electronics. In lieu of degree, must have 3 years related experience.
