SUMMARY: Assembles aluminum boats and/or sub-assemblies, partially or completely, working at a bench, or in a boat, or on shop floor by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Positions and installs assemblies, sub-assemblies and parts following diagrams or blueprints. Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners. Uses jigs, screws, rivets, glue, tape and various other fasteners to install parts. Removes small quantities of metal with hand files, shears or other tools to achieve optimal fit. Operates drill presses, punch presses, air tools or riveting machines to assist in assembly operation. Installs seats, bases, pedestals, consoles, cables, controls, graphics, etc. Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous assembly, wiring or rigging experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: The basic skills necessary to communicate with other employees and supervisors. Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: The basic skills necessary to read and interpret rulers, gauges and other measuring devices; and the ability to perform basic mathematical functions. Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide.
REASONING ABILITY: This position requires the ability to reason and determine acceptable from unacceptable product quality, personal behavior and productivity. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out step by step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work will take place in a manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
