The University of Virginia Health System (UVA Health) is seeking a fellowship-trained Body Imaging Radiologist to join our Community Division. This role offers the opportunity to practice the full scope of body imaging in a collegial, supportive environment serving Prince William Hospital, Haymarket Medical Center, Culpeper Hospital, Culpeper Outpatient Imaging Center and Gainesville Outpatient Imaging Center. The position combines the advantages of community-based practice with the resources and academic connections of a leading university health system.
The successful candidate will devote approximately 90-95% effort to clinical service and 5-10% to administrative and service activities, with flexibility to adapt as the division evolves.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Interpret a comprehensive range of Body Imaging studies across all major modalities (plain film, CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopic GI/GU exams, and non-vascular image-guided procedures).
- Refine, expand, and improve clinical services in body imaging and related image-guided procedures.
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and provide consultative expertise for referring physicians and technical staff.
- Collaborate with referring providers to ensure appropriate, high-value use of imaging studies and procedures.
- Share in the divisions clinical schedule and call responsibilities, with occasional coverage at the Culpeper Outpatient Imaging Center.
Service & Administrative Responsibilities
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, workflow optimization, and patient care process enhancements.
- Participate in peer review, clinical protocol development, and recruitment/marketing initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with technologists, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure high-quality imaging protocols and efficient workflow.
- Promote a culture of collegiality, inclusivity, and respect within the Division and across UVA Health.
- Support the professional reputation of UVA Radiology in the communities we serve.
Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. degree; board certified/eligible in Diagnostic Radiology.
- Fellowship training in Body Imaging.
- Eligibility for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Strong clinical skills, collaborative mindset, and commitment to patient-centered care.

The base compensation range for this role is $503,453 - $602,506 for a 1.0 clinical FTE status. Individual compensation will be determined by fair market value and the selected candidate's qualifications, clinical experience, specialty training, credentials, and/or education. Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs, such as productivity, quality, non-productivity, or other incentives that may be available for eligible positions.
