Kforce has a client that is seeking a Bookkeeper in Baltimore, MD.
Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial transactions and maintain accurate financial records for a construction company. The ideal candidate will have experience with bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and job cost tracking. Construction industry experience is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Bookkeeper will maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries and transaction coding
- Process vendor invoices, accounts payable, and customer billing/accounts receivable
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and general ledger accounts
- Track job costs, project expenses, and budgets by job or project
- Assist with subcontractor payments, purchase orders, and vendor management
- As a Bookkeeper, you will monitor incoming payments, follow up on outstanding invoices, and assist with collections
- Prepare financial reports and assist with month-end and year-end closing
- Maintain organized financial documentation and ensure accurate recordkeeping
- Assist with payroll processing and expense tracking as needed
- Communicate with project managers, vendors, and internal teams regarding financial transactions
Requirements:
- 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Construction accounting or job costing experience preferred
- Familiarity with construction accounting software, such as Sage 100 Contractor, QuickBooks, or Foundation, is a plus
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
