Bookkeeper – Law Firm Experience Required

 Location: New York, NY
 Salary: Up to $85,000

SourceProSearch is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper with a background in law firm accounting to join the team. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this role is responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping, administrative tasks, and office facilities management. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of handling multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General bookkeeping: Record journal entries, process invoices, and manage accounts receivable/payable.
  • Banking & reconciliations: Perform bank deposits, credit card reconciliations, and vendor account setups.
  • Vendor & billing management: Communicate with vendors regarding billing matters and oversee account setup.
  • Office administration: Manage office supply purchases, coordinate with IT vendors, and liaise with building management.
  • Event coordination: Assist with organizing and coordinating social events.
  • Data management: Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Other accounting & administrative duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services setting.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
  • Strong Excel skills (ability to create formulas and manipulate data).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain confidentiality.
