Our dynamic and fast-paced sales company is currently seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeping Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing our financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. This includes performing daily accounting tasks such as monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and record payments and adjustments. The candidate will also be responsible for managing properties' financial data. This role requires a keen eye for detail, outstanding problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and utilities.
- Perform month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a timely basis.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, including analyzing and presenting reports on financial status, in-depth reports on identified issues and complex financial data.
- Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts.
- Ensure the company's financial systems are compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Work closely with the property management team to manage financial data and provide financial guidance.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Assist in the development of the budget, planning, and other corporate financial requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a bookkeeping or financial management role.
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
- High proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with relevant accounting software.
- In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Experience with month-end close, financial schedules, journal entry preparation, general ledger, and property management.
- Excellent data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and strong ethical code.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in Real Estate or Property Management is preferred
