LOCATION: NDSCS - Wahpeton, North Dakota

TYPE OF APPOINTMENT: Full-time, 12-month, benefited position

JOB SUMMARY: The Bookstore & Mail Services Associate provides front-line support for the daily operations of the NDSCS Bookstore and Mail Services. Responsibilities include receiving, sorting, and distributing incoming and outgoing mail and packages; assisting students, faculty, staff, and visitors at the bookstore and mail service counters; processing point-of-sale transactions; and supporting inventory, shipping, and receiving activities. This position ensures accurate, efficient, and customer-focused service that supports the academic and operational needs of the campus community.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and provide professional service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer applications.

  • Ability to learn and use mail, shipping, point-of-sale, inventory, and package tracking systems.

  • Ability to lift, move, and transport mail tubs, packages, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, including loading/unloading delivery vehicles and transporting mail between campus buildings.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet institutional driving requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in business, retail, or related field.

  • Customer service, retail, shipping/receiving, mail services, or related experience preferred.

  • Experience using POS, inventory, or shipping systems preferred.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment

Additional Information

SALARY: 36,921 to 41,000 - commensurate with education and experience
