Booster Pump Operator / Oiler - DredgingThis is a great opportunity for an experienced Booster Pump Operator / Olier to join our growing team at Gator Dredging. You must have at least 2 years of booster pump operating experience in dredging. Starting Hourly Pay Range for This Position: $20.00 to $26.00. This is based on previous work experience, skills, and current certifications / professional licenses. Responsibilities For the Booster Pump Operator / Oiler: Start, monitor, and stop barge-mounted or land-based booster pumps to assist the dredging operations.Adjust pump speeds (manual or automated) to match inlet pressures, avoid cavitation, and prevent pressure spikesLubricate moving parts of booster pumps to reduce friction and wear.Perform routine inspections of booster pumps to identify potential issues.Monitor and maintain oil levels in pumps and reservoirs.Replace worn-out or damaged parts to ensure continuous operation.Assist in the installation and setup of new booster pumps.Document maintenance activities and report any abnormalities to supervisors.Clean and maintain the work area to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.Collaborate with other maintenance staff to troubleshoot and resolve pump issues.Perform other duties as assigned and required for Operations.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.Requirements For the Booster Pump Operator / Oiler: 2 years of booster pump operating experience in dredging. Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components.Must be able to travel.OSHA Certification a plus.Boating or Equipment Certifications a plus.Provide your own reliable transportation to and from the job site.Must be able to work outside for entire shift in all weather conditions (hot, humid, cold, wet) required.Be honest, hardworking, reliable, punctual and attitude to get the job done.Physical Demands/Work Environment for The Booster Pump Operator / Oiler: Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will use sit, use hands, talk/hear; Frequently will reach with hands; Occasionally will stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste/smell.Lift and/or Move Functions: Regularly will lift up to 10 pounds; Frequently will lift up to 25 pounds; Occasionally will lift up to 50 pounds.Employee Benefits.
