Position Summary

BooVille Costume Characters are responsible for bringing the BooVille Zone to life by providing a fun, safe, and kid-friendly experience for guests ages 12 and under. This role focuses on interactive guest engagement, games, crafts, and character appearances while maintaining the highest standards of safety and guest service.

Team Members in this position help create memorable family experiences through positive interactions, playful energy, and teamwork.

Skills, Requirements & Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older

• Prior experience working with children preferred

• Strong guest service and communication skills

• Ability to interact positively with children and families

• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

General Duties & Responsibilities

Guest Service

• Provide friendly, welcoming, and professional service to all guests

• Follow all guest service standards and code of conduct guidelines outlined in the Team Member Handbook

Safety

• Support Wild Waves’ safety-first culture by maintaining a safe environment and following all safety guidelines

Teamwork

• Work collaboratively with fellow BooVille team members and leadership to ensure a positive experience

Cleanliness

• Maintain clean and organized work areas, including BooVille spaces and dressing rooms

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Costume Character Performance: Wear provided BooVille costume and maintain a fun, kid-friendly character at all times

• Guest Interaction: Greet and interact with children and families, encouraging participation in BooVille activities

• Games & Crafts: Assist with BooVille games and crafts, encourage guest participation, and distribute candy or prizes as directed

• Guest Information: Provide basic information about BooVille activities and general park offerings

• Team Support: Work as part of the BooVille team to create a welcoming and engaging environment

• Cleanliness & Organization: Maintain cleanliness and organization of BooVille areas and costume/dressing rooms

• Other Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned based on department and park needs

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods

• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and crouching

• Occasional sitting, climbing, or balancing

• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally

• Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

• Work is primarily outdoors and subject to varying weather conditions

• Noise levels may range from moderate to high

• Ability to wear costume elements for extended periods
