Boring Bar Machine Operator
Shift: 1st Shift | 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Pay: $23–$25 per hour (based on experience)
Location: Cudahy, WI
Position Purpose
The Boring Bar Machine Operator is responsible for machining large, complex components to precise tolerances. This role requires strong setup experience, the ability to interpret blueprints, and proficiency operating various boring mills to produce high-quality parts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Set up, adjust, and operate various boring bars and boring mills
Perform machining operations including boring, milling, turning, facing, grooving, recessing, tapering, drilling, tapping, and countersinking
Machine a wide variety of materials using personal tools
Set up, align, and secure large, irregular workpieces with multiple interrelated dimensions
Make layouts, establish reference points, and determine boring locations from blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Select appropriate speeds, feeds, tooling, and operational sequences for diverse machining operations
Use precision measuring instruments to ensure parts meet exact tolerances
Operate overhead crane to move and position large components
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Follow all standard operating procedures and company policies
Adhere to proper call-in procedures and attendance requirements
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Previous experience operating boring bars or boring mills
Overhead crane experience required
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Strong understanding of machining principles, speeds, feeds, and tooling
Good attitude and high level of motivation
Reliable attendance to meet business needs
Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment
