Receives assignment, drawings, and/or verbal instructions.Make set ups using tools and equipment needed, select feeds and speeds.Machine parts to drawing dimensions performing operations such as bore, cobore, tap, drill, ream, counterbore, mill ends; face thrust bearings.Rework/repair parts as required.Work to tolerances of ± .0005 by adjusting and setting tools.Handle heavy parts by hoist or overhead crane.

Qualifications, Skills and Educational Requirements

Proven experience/knowledge in setting up/operating manual boring bar.Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, drawings etc.Good understanding of quality control principles.Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical condition.High school diploma: Higher degree from a technical school will be appreciated.
