Job Description: Box Truck Driver (Non-CDL)Position Title
Box Truck Driver (Non-CDL)
Position Summary
The Box Truck Driver (Non-CDL) is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional delivery and pickup of goods while providing exceptional customer service. This position requires operating a non-CDL box truck, loading and unloading materials, verifying deliveries, and maintaining compliance with all company safety policies and applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a non-CDL box truck in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies.

  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.

  • Load, secure, transport, and unload products while preventing damage to cargo.

  • Verify delivery paperwork, invoices, packing slips, and customer signatures.

  • Deliver products accurately and on schedule according to assigned routes.

  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and required documentation.

  • Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, and supervisors regarding deliveries and route updates.

  • Follow established safety procedures during loading, unloading, and transportation.

  • Keep the truck clean and report maintenance needs promptly.

  • Assist in warehouse operations, inventory movement, and general labor duties as needed.

  • Adhere to all company policies, DOT regulations, and safety standards.

  • Represent the company professionally while interacting with customers and the public.
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Minimum age of 21 years preferred (or as required by company insurance).

  • Previous delivery driving, route driving, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred.

  • Ability to safely operate a non-CDL box truck.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.

  • Basic math and documentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds;occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.

  • Ability to enter and exit the truck multiple times throughout the day.

  • Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb for extended periods.

  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and warehouse environments.

  • Ability to safely load and unload freight using appropriate equipment.
Work Environment

  • Local and regional driving routes.

  • Indoor warehouse and outdoor delivery environments.

  • Exposure to changing weather conditions, vehicle vibration, and moderate noise levels.
Preferred Skills

  • Route planning and navigation experience.

  • Experience using handheld scanners or mobile delivery applications.

  • Forklift certification is a plus (if applicable).

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
