Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks and other commercial vehicles such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Load and unload freight efficiently using forklifts or manual handling techniques while adhering to safety protocols.
- Drive assigned routes with precision, following all traffic laws and company policies to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety and report any issues promptly.
- Manage documentation related to deliveries, pickups, route logs, and delivery receipts accurately.
- Assist with securing freight on different truck types including flatbeds and tanker trailers for safe transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly.
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or truck driver, preferably with exposure to various truck types such as tractor-trailers or roll-off trucks.
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is highly desirable.
- Prior experience driving refrigerated trailers or flatbed trucks is a plus.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures including load & unload operations using forklifts or manual methods.
- Demonstrated ability to follow route driving instructions accurately and maintain safety standards throughout the day.
- Valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type being operated; endorsements for tankers or refrigerated trailers are advantageous.
