Position OverviewStand-By Personnel is seeking an experienced
Brake Press & Laser Machine Operator for an immediate temp-to-hire manufacturing opportunity in Tulsa. This position is responsible for setting up and operating a
60-ton brake press and 20kW laser cutting machine to produce precision metal components according to blueprints and production specifications.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in metal fabrication or machining, experience operating brake press and/or laser cutting equipment, and the ability to manage multiple machines while maintaining production efficiency and quality standards.
Candidates should have strong mechanical aptitude, excellent measurement skills, and the ability to perform machine setups, tooling adjustments, basic maintenance, and finished-part inspections.
Required Experience & Skills
Previous brake press and/or laser cutting machine experience
5+ years of fabrication or machining experience preferred
Ability to safely operate industrial metal fabrication equipment
Experience with machine setup and tooling adjustments
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Ability to understand technical drawings and specifications
Strong measurement and dimensional verification skills
Ability to inspect finished metal components
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities
Ability to perform basic machine maintenance
Ability to manage multiple machines and production priorities
Strong attention to detail and product quality
Ability to maintain consistent productivity in a fast-paced environment

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Set up and operate a 60-ton brake press
Set up and operate a 20kW laser cutting machine
Review blueprints and work orders before production
Interpret technical drawings and specifications
Select and adjust applicable tooling
Load and position materials for fabrication
Operate brake press equipment to form metal components
Operate laser cutting equipment according to production requirements
Monitor machine performance throughout production
Make applicable machine adjustments
Verify completed parts meet dimensional requirements
Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
Identify defective or out-of-specification components
Perform basic machine maintenance
Troubleshoot routine equipment concerns
Manage workflow between multiple machines
Maintain established production standards
Keep machines and surrounding work areas clean and organized
Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements
Perform additional fabrication and machining duties as assigned
Brake Press OperationCandidates will work with a
60-ton brake press to form metal components according to production specifications.
Responsibilities may include:
Setting up brake press equipment
Selecting applicable tooling
Adjusting dies and tooling
Positioning materials
Performing bending and forming operations
Verifying bend angles and dimensions
Monitoring machine performance
Making adjustments to maintain accuracy
Inspecting completed parts
Candidates should understand the importance of maintaining consistent dimensions and part quality throughout the forming process.
Laser Cutting OperationThis position also involves operating a
20kW laser cutting machine.
Responsibilities may include:
Preparing the laser cutting machine for production
Loading and positioning materials
Following applicable cutting specifications
Monitoring laser cutting operations
Making applicable machine adjustments
Inspecting completed cuts
Identifying cutting defects
Maintaining production efficiency
Following all laser equipment safety procedures
Previous laser cutting experience is highly valuable for this position.

Multiple Machine OperationThis position requires the ability to manage production activities involving both brake press and laser cutting equipment.

Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift

Manual dexterity required for machine setup and tool adjustments
Ability to safely load and unload materials
Comfortable performing repetitive manufacturing work
Ability to safely work around brake press machinery, laser cutting equipment, and industrial tools
Ability to wear all required PPE

Consistent first-shift schedule
Overtime may be required based on production needs
