Brake Press Operator (Sheet Metal Fabrication)
Pay: $18–$25/hour DOE
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Brake Press Operator (Sheet Metal Fabrication) – Must-Have Requirements

• Previous experience operating press brake machines
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and shop drawings
• Experience using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to perform basic machine setup and adjustments
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• High school diploma or GED required

Brake Press Operator (Sheet Metal Fabrication) – Position Summary

• Set up and operate press brake machines to form and bend sheet metal components
• Produce precision parts according to engineering drawings and specifications
• Ensure parts meet quality and dimensional requirements in a fast-paced machine shop
• Support production flow while maintaining safety and quality standards

Brake Press Operator (Sheet Metal Fabrication) – Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Set up and operate press brake machines for sheet metal forming
• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and shop drawings
• Select proper tooling and machine settings for each job
• Measure and inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools
• Make adjustments, offsets, and program edits as needed to maintain accuracy
• Perform routine machine maintenance and report issues promptly
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work area
• Follow SOPs and OSHA safety standards
• Track production and ensure quality compliance
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Brake Press Operator (Sheet Metal Fabrication) – Additional Qualifications

• Strong math skills for measurements and layout work
• Knowledge of metal types, thicknesses, and bending characteristics
• Experience in a fabrication or machine shop environment preferred
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in production work
