Job Description

Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Brake Press Setup/Operator is responsible for setting up and operating brake press and punch press equipment to form, bend, and punch a variety of metal components. This role is focused on producing high-quality parts efficiently while maintaining safety and production standards in a manufacturing environment.

This position offers hands-on training and opportunities to expand technical skills in machine setup, tooling, and general fabrication processes.


 
Physical Requirements
Regular standing for extended periods
Frequent use of hands for handling tools, parts, and equipment
Ability to lift and/or move up to 40–45 lbs occasionally
Occasional bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, or climbing
Visual ability to inspect parts and maintain quality standards
Ability to work in a manufacturing/production environment

Industrial manufacturing floor with exposure to machinery and metal components

Job Responsibilities

  • Set up, adjust, and operate brake press and punch press equipment to form, bend, and punch metal parts
  • Install tooling, dies, and gauges; adjust machine settings to achieve required angles and dimensions
  • Read and interpret work instructions, drawings, and basic technical specifications
  • Use measuring tools such as scales, protractors, and basic inspection gauges
  • Inspect parts to ensure quality standards and dimensional accuracy are met
  • Sort, package, and prepare finished components for next steps or shipment
  • Move raw materials and finished goods within the production area as needed
  • Operate material handling equipment, including overhead lifting devices when required
  • Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and company policies
    Support additional production or shop duties as assigned
