SURESTAFF is immediately hiring Brake Press Operator - Manufacturing in La Vergne, TN. The position assumes the operation of different machines to produce metal parts to assemble component parts to customer specification using various hand tools and methods. Tasks could include; loading and unloading a paint line, sanding metal parts, minor assembly, inspection, and/or packing
Pay rate is $17.50-$20/HR depending on experience. First shift available. Hours are 6 AM to 2:30 PM or 2:30-11 PM Monday-Friday with the potential for overtime.
Responsibilities of the Brake Press Operator - Manufacturing:
• Set up NC punch machine per customer specifications (dimensions, tolerances and spacing)
• Configure proper settings on control console
• Place tools in specified stations
• Locate dies, punches and clamps. Verify locations with calipers
• Run a test pattern, using a blank, to verify accurate set up.
• Observe operation and make adjustments when part is out of specification
• Perform a 100% inspection of the first part produced
• Inspect parts and ensure they are being produced to blueprint (dimensions, hole locations and size and tolerances)
• Maintain production count and monitor SPC control charts
• Separate, deburr and stack parts according to specific instructions
• Maintain machine and tools to good operating condition
• Sharpen tools when necessary to ensure better wear, longer tool life and accurate punching
• May require training of new operators in NC Punch Operations
Required Qualifications of the General Production
• Previous experience in production, manufacturing, assembling, and/or machine operating. • Blueprint reading
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude is essential.
• Flexibility to work overtime and extra shifts as needed.
• Experience reading and interpreting production specifications a plus.
• A high school diploma or equivalent
