Job Title: Brake Press Operator

Job Type: Contract to Hire 

Location: St. Louis, Mo

Pay: $25-35/hour—Based on experience

HireLevel is looking for a full-time Production Worker with a focus on Press Brake Operation. This position will focus primarily on programming and operating the brakes and folding equipment but will help out in other production areas as needed.

Our client is a Union Shop through IBEW with benefits starting after 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities of the Brake Press Operator:

• Work with sheet metal to form and bend parts
• Perform correct math calculations to ensure bends are accurately formed
• Read and interpret production drawings
• Program, operate and adjust CNC controls
• Ability to select appropriate tooling to form parts as drawn
• Use precision measurement tools to check for part dimensional accuracy 
• Ability to follow instructions from leadership for daily priorities & procedures
• Perform assigned work within time standards with quality expectations
• Safely operate all manufacturing equipment and adhere to safety guidelines
• Report and document basic material, production, and quality control issues
• Perform preventative maintenance as needed
• Ability to lift 50lbs

Requirements of the Brake Press Operator:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous experience operating and programming Press Brakes
• Mechanically minded
• Ability to work both independently and with a team
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• A “roll up your sleeves and get it done” mindset
• Passion for high quality work & attention to detail
• Ability to work in fast paced environment
• Excellent communication skills including listening, comprehension & feedback.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
