Responsible for setting up and monitoring performance on all Heat Treat operations
Starting rate: $24.35 hourly
Essential Functions:
Communicate the Standard Work Instructions and Quality Standards to heat treat mechanics and monitor compliance and adherence to the standards.
Verify documentation of all heat treat verifications on the proper quality form (QF).
Take steps to remedy any non-conformances
Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or malfunction.
Measure work piece to determine accuracy of machine operation.
Monitor and maintain the quench system on all heat treat operations.
Troubleshoot machine problems and works with supervision, heat treat mechanics and maintenance to ensure machines are running efficiently.
Perform minor machine maintenance as required such as but not limited to repairing tooling, buss bars, coils, fixtures, etc.
Help set up Heat Treat Operations.
Train employees in the heat treat operation.
Work well with supervision and co-workers.
Work with Engineering team on Heat Treat projects
Education and Training:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience in the heat treat area preferred
Minimum Qualifications:
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Basic math skills
Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as, but not limited to Rockwell Tester, Calipers, Refractometer.
Ability to read blue prints.
Ability to work and complete projects independently.
Demonstrates dependability and adherence to all safety rules and regulations.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand continuously for 8 - 12 hours.
Ability to work in tight places
Strength and manual dexterity sufficient to operate tools to make repairs
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds repetitively.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to twist, bend and lift repetitively.
Ability to stand, crouch and climb to perform repairs, use ladders and perform various types of manual labor.
Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills.
Vision (with correction) is sufficient to read blueprints and orders and the ability to record the information either manually or in a computer.
Environmental Conditions:
Exposure to a noisy work environment.
Exposure to hot and humid conditions.
Exposure to hot steel.
Exposure to fumes.
Exposure to welding arc.
Exposure to coolants, oils, grease and water.
Ear and Eye protection required at all times in all production areas.
Steel toe boots with integrated metatarsal guards required in production area.
