Branch Manager – Specialty Contractor Company: Long Fence Location: Phoenixville, PA Salary: $70,000–$90,000 per year (commensurate with experience) Position Summary Long Fence is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead operations at our Phoenixville, Pennsylvania branch. This role is responsible for estimating, bidding, and managing construction projects within Long Fence’s specialty contracting services while overseeing staff, driving profitability, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and public agencies. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in construction estimating and project management, particularly within public works and highway construction markets. We are seeking an experienced professional to lead operations and project management for a diverse portfolio of construction projects, including public works, highway construction, and commercial/industrial developments. This role is responsible for managing projects from bid award through closeout, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives. The successful candidate will oversee compliance with contract documents, safety regulations, and industry standards while coordinating resources across multiple projects.
In addition to project execution, this position plays a key role in estimating and business development. Responsibilities include preparing and submitting accurate, competitive cost estimates, identifying new business opportunities in both public and private markets, and maintaining strong relationships with general contractors, owners, inspectors, and public agencies. The role also involves monitoring bid opportunities and market conditions to drive growth and profitability.
As a leader, you will supervise and mentor a team of estimators, project managers, field foremen, and support staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork. You will manage branch budgets, cost controls, and financial performance, including reviewing job cost reports and project forecasts. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of construction management experience, strong estimating skills, and familiarity with PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike standards. Key Responsibilities - Operations & Project Management
- Lead estimating, bidding, and execution of prime and subcontract projects
- Manage projects from bid award through closeout, ensuring schedule, budget, quality, and safety objectives are met
- Oversee public works, highway construction, commercial, and industrial projects
- Ensure compliance with contract documents, safety regulations, and industry standards
- Estimating & Business Development
- Prepare, review, and submit competitive and accurate cost estimates
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in public and private markets
- Maintain strong relationships with general contractors, owners, inspectors, and public agencies
- Monitor bid opportunities and market conditions
Supervision & Leadership - Supervise, mentor, and evaluate estimators/project managers, field foremen, purchasing staff, and office support personnel
- Coordinate staffing, equipment, and material resources across projects

Qualifications - 5+ years of construction management experience, preferably in specialty or highway construction
- Strong estimating background with demonstrated bid success
- Experience managing both prime and subcontract projects
- Familiarity with PENNDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike specifications and standards preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with construction estimating and project management software
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
