Rocky Mountain Truck Centers (RMTC) operates Truck Centers (TC), Roadside (RS), and Towing & Recovery (TR) profit centers dedicated to keeping heavy‑duty trucks safely and reliably on the road. We combine 24/7/365 roadside support with shop repair, towing, and maintenance services built around safety, accountability, and a high‑urgency customer experience.

Role Summary

The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall performance, compliance, and profitability of an assigned RMTC location. This role leads daily operations across TC, RS, and TR, ensures adherence to RMTC standards, DOT/FMCSA and applicable state/federal regulations, and drives a culture of safety, training, and customer satisfaction.

Branch Managers are accountable for meeting branch‑level SLA targets and KPIs and serve as the final gatekeeper for service quality, risk controls, and customer trust.

What You’ll Do

Operational Leadership

  • Lead day‑to‑day operations across Truck Center, Roadside, and Towing & Recovery profit centers.
  • Ensure ESR workflows and on‑call technician scheduling are executed to standard.
  • Maintain compliance with RMTC policies, DOT/FMCSA regulations, and applicable state and federal labor laws.
  • Oversee service counter, phone administration, and dispatch visibility for all ESRs.
  • Achieve budgeted sales goals and SLA metrics, including Dispatch Connected %, ETA variance, estimate turnaround time, and related KPIs.
  • Review Helix and other operational signals regularly and execute corrective actions (without suppressing or altering signals).



  • People Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and develop Service Advisors, Project Managers, Technicians, and Wrecker Operators.
  • Conduct role‑specific and periodic performance reviews aligned to branch SLA expectations.
  • Monitor time & attendance compliance and address violations through coaching and corrective action.
  • Administer Core Curriculum, Bullpen Curriculum, and RM University training at the branch level; ensure completion is documented and auditable.
  • Run weekly KPI reviews with the Director of Operations and drive 100% OKR engagement across the branch.



  • Financial & Operational Performance

  • Drive branch profitability through productivity, efficiency, and risk‑gate enforcement.
  • Review and approve estimates for labor, parts, and margins; serve as Work Order Value Guarantor.
  • Enforce deposit/PO collection prior to dispatch or tear‑down.
  • Manage inventory, tires, cores/returns, and vendor invoices to target metrics (e.g., Parts GP, Labor GP, Cores & Returns %, Supplier Invoice Accuracy).
  • Complete month‑end variance packets and other financial reporting requirements.



  • Customer & Partner Relations

  • Uphold the Rocky Mountain Promise: professional communication, transparency, and urgency.
  • Resolve escalated customer concerns in partnership with leadership as needed.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key partners and national accounts (e.g., FleetNet, Goodyear, Bridgestone, Michelin).
  • Drive online reputation and feedback metrics (Podium, GMB rating and review response).



  • Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce RMTC safety standards (PPE, certifications, DOT compliance, wheel torque standards).
  • Conduct regular shop and roadside safety audits and document incidents within required timeframes.
  • Ensure pre‑trip compliance, fuel receipt uploads, and all required SOPs are followed and documented.
  • Lead monthly safety meetings with agendas and rosters on file.



  • Key Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in heavy‑duty truck service, roadside, or towing operations.
  • 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a multi‑shift, service‑driven environment.
  • Demonstrated financial and operational acumen, including P&L and KPI ownership.
  • Familiarity with fleet/service systems such as Protractor, Zuper, ERS, TowManator, and national account platforms (GYNA/MNA/BNA), or willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication, conflict‑resolution, and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to lead in a 24/7/365 operation, including after‑hours availability as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, and ability to meet any position‑specific motor vehicle requirements.



  • Preferred

  • Experience managing technicians, service advisors, dispatchers, and/or wrecker operators.
  • Prior responsibility for branch or department‑level KPIs (productivity, efficiency, close rate, etc.).



  • Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to work in a shop, yard, and roadside environment around heavy‑duty trucks and equipment.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and movement through shop areas; occasional bending, stooping, and climbing in/around vehicles.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move items up to [X lbs – fill in your standard, e.g., 25–35 lbs] with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions when walking through yard/lot or observing roadside operations, with appropriate PPE provided.
