The Branch Manager position should have strong business development skills, and will provide leadership to the bank through oversight, planning, organizing, and directing daily branch operations, managing and retaining existing loan/bank relationships. This position is responsible for ensuring collaboration and communication among bank personnel and ensuring adherence to all practices, policies, procedures, and regulations. The position may be accountable for the evaluation, approval, and servicing of consumer and commercial loans, loans both secured and unsecured. The position will also promote company growth by seeking new opportunities and expanding the customer base and market presence.

  • Provide customer resolution to problems and inquiries through direct personal action or referral to the appropriate department.
  • Manage direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, profit objectives, and the potential of the human assets of the company.
  • Recruit, coach, train, and retain competent, professional, and highly driven branch personnel.
  • Monitor and review employee performance and provide recommendations for employee compensation, promotion, and training.
  • Assist in managing the safety and security of the branch, including physical checks of bank property and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with banking policies, procedures, and internal control systems.
  • Promote a positive, productive work environment focused on the bank, employee, and community successes.
  • Recommend operational policy and procedure improvements to senior management.
  • Develop new business through customer contacts and calling efforts and meet loan production goals.
    • Develop referral networks, suggest alternate channels and cross-sell products and services.
    • Evaluate prospective borrowers' general creditworthiness and determine whether the transaction merits moving forward to the full underwriting process.
    • Work in cooperation with the Branch Manager and Market President coordinating market strategies and event planning to increase loan and deposit relationships.
  • Ensure that extended credit maximizes bank profits and provides a quality asset.
  • Manage existing loan portfolios, renewals, exceptions, past dues, and customer service.
    • Interview applicants to determine financial eligibility and feasibility of granting loans.
    • Maintain orderly credit and collateral files.
    • Manage pre-closing and post-closing loan processes.
    • Keep senior management informed and aware of portfolio or individual loan risk.
  • Underwrite new loans/renewals for Loan Committee presentations.
  • Adhere to bank loan policy and regulatory compliance when approving loans.
  • Guide the culture of the bank through demonstration and communication of shared values.
  • Involvement in community activities.
  • Exhibit exemplary attendance and punctuality.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties requested by supervision as they relate to the bank and its functions.
