Branch Operations Manager (Plumbing)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Branch Operations Manager to lead the daily operations of our Fresno, CA branch. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of branch performance, including operations, customer satisfaction, financial results, employee development, and business growth. The Branch Operations Manager will provide strong leadership to both field and office teams while ensuring the delivery of high-quality plumbing and water damage restoration services.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a proven track record of managing service operations, improving efficiencies, developing high-performing teams, and driving profitability in a fast-paced environment. Experience within the plumbing, restoration, construction, or home services industry is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Management
  • Lead all day-to-day branch operations to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable service delivery.
  • Oversee scheduling, dispatching, workflow coordination, and resource allocation to maximize technician productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor job progress, service quality, and operational performance to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Maintain branch facilities, fleet vehicles, tools, equipment, and inventory to support uninterrupted operations.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and service quality.

Leadership & Team Development
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, train, coach, and mentor office staff, technicians, supervisors, and support personnel.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-focused workplace culture.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, establish employee development plans, and address performance concerns when necessary.
  • Promote teamwork, employee engagement, and professional growth throughout the branch.

Financial & Business Performance
  • Manage branch financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, expense control, and profitability.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), labor utilization, revenue, gross margin, and overall branch performance.
  • Develop and execute strategies to improve operational efficiency, profitability, and customer retention.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of branch metrics and operational results.

Customer Service & Business Development
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by ensuring prompt response times and high-quality workmanship.
  • Resolve escalated customer concerns quickly and professionally while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Build relationships with residential, commercial, insurance, and property management customers.
  • Identify opportunities to expand business, increase revenue, and grow market share within the territory.
  • Collaborate with regional leadership on sales initiatives, strategic planning, and operational objectives.

Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, safety standards, and local, state, and federal requirements.
  • Promote a culture of workplace safety through training, coaching, and accountability.
  • Monitor vehicle safety, equipment maintenance, and jobsite compliance.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and adherence to company procedures.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in branch management, operations management, or service management.
  • Proven success leading teams within plumbing, water damage restoration, construction, HVAC, mechanical services, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of operational management, scheduling, dispatching, and workforce planning.
  • Experience managing budgets, financial reporting, operational KPIs, and branch profitability.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing employees.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to resolve complex service issues.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and service management software.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing plumbing service operations or water damage restoration teams.
  • Knowledge of restoration industry standards, insurance-related restoration work, or emergency service operations.
  • Previous P&L responsibility and multi-department leadership experience.
  • OSHA or other industry safety certifications are a plus.
