    Description

    Job Summary:

    The Branch/Counter Sales Associate is responsible for selling and merchandising installation products within an assigned Branch. In addition, this position will provide support and backup duties to the Assistant Branch Manager and/or the Branch Manager. The Branch/Counter Sales Associate will perform all roles and duties assigned by the Branch Manager to help grow the sales of the branch and help drive operational and service excellence.

    Responsibilities:

    • Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions while increasing sales and average order size by means of cross selling, up-selling, and add on sales.
    • Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information to customers both in person and over the phone.
    • Assist the Branch Manager in keeping inventory levels in-line with Company objectives while ensuring adequate stock for customers.
    • Perform receiving functions for the branch: DC/Branch transfers, and vendor shipments.
    • Perform shipping functions for the branch: transfers, HW deliveries, routes LTL's and UPS shipments.
    • Responsible for merchandising installation products in alignment with the Territory Manager's sales objectives.
    • Perform Will Call duties within customer wait time metrics.
    • Ensure safety procedures for products and equipment are followed to provide a safe work environment.
    • Contribute to the security of the branch property at all times.
    • Perform end of day order processing.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Excellent sales and customer services skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet assigned deadlines.
    • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
    • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
    • 1-2 years of warehouse or retail operations experience preferred.
    • 1-2 years of customer service, retail, and/or flooring industry experience preferred.
    • Prior experience operating a gas powered sit-down forklift and pallet jack.
    • RF scanner experience a plus.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word and Excel.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of standing at a counter and operating a computer.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at times.
    • Ability to bend, stretch, push and pull.
    • Travel may be required between territory branches to help with vacation coverage (5%).
