Overview Position Title: Lab Technician. Wage: $20-$29/hour. Shift: Night 12-hour shift. Hours: 5pm-5am. QPS Employment Group is hiring a Lab Technician for a company in Milwaukee, WI. This is an associate to hire opportunity.Responsibilities Cut samples using a power cut-off sawMount samples and maintain accurate manual logsPolish mounted samples for testing and evaluationPerform hardness testing including Rockwell Standard testing, Rockwell Superficial testing, Microhardness testing, Brinell hardness testing using a Detroit Brinell testerMeasure total and effective case depth using microscopes and hardness testersEvaluate decarburization using 30-point Knoop testing and visual inspection methodsMeasure compound zone (white layer) using 500x microscope magnificationCapture and save sample images using microscope camera systemsUnderstand and apply various sampling plansPrint and review SSI System trend chartsRead, interpret, complete, and initial work orders accuratelyEnter test data into TQM softwarePrepare and complete customer certifications using Word, Excel, and TQMInitiate non-conformance reports for out-of-specification parts and forward to the Plant MetallurgistTag and place nonconforming parts on hold as requiredPerform verification of hardness testing equipmentFollow established lab cleaning and maintenance routinesEnsure proper identification, labeling, and storage of laboratory chemicalsOperate a forklift (must be Certified Lift Truck Trained)Adhere to all company safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, and Hazardous Materials protocolsComplete all required safety trainingQualifications Ability to stand, walk, and move between workstations for extended periodsManual dexterity to handle small parts, tools, and precision instrumentsAbility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionallyStrong visual acuity for detailed inspection and microscope workAbility to work in an industrial environment with exposure to heat, noise, and operating equipmentWe are an equal opportunity employer.#J-18808-Ljbffr
