The Branch Trainer is responsible for preparing Advisors to accomplish job responsibilities by planning, developing, facilitating and evaluating system and procedural training. Trainers develop, write, review, and create training guides and training content to be delivered virtually and/or via classroom using job aids, practice exercises and hands-on activities. Designs curriculum to optimize learning and application of the learned material. Evaluates training to assess comprehension and successful application of the training content. Demonstrates personal accountability for work. Adapts to changing business needs, conditions and work responsibilities and supports leadership direction.
Represent the Bank to the customer in a courteous, professional manner in face-to-face and telephone communications. Expert knowledge of bank processes, products, services and resources as well as banking regulations including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA). Provide timely, efficient, and accurate service in conducting training in accordance with all regulations, policies and procedures.
- Provide Advisors with a valuable training experience by using a variety of teaching methods to engage them in the learning process. Present training in a manner that allows the learner sufficient time to read, review, practice and discuss the material.
- Create and maintain a motivational interactive learning experience that promotes application of learning to the work environment.
- Document training results and feedback on all new hires and gather feedback on programs from Advisors to determine learning objectives have been met. Maintain accurate records to produce management reporting on training programs. Provide support and assistance as needed to fulfill training responsibilities.
- Participate in the review and revision of current training curriculum for all programs associated with new hires and existing advisors in the Retail Division to include Teller, CSR, Personal Banker and management positions. Focus on continuous improvement of training through the expansion of current curriculum as well as development and implementation of new material to meet the learning needs and professional development goals of Advisors.
- Expert knowledge of bank processes, products, services and resources as well as banking regulations.
- Foster commitment to teamwork, resolving conflicts productively, and developing long-term productive relationships with Advisors to facilitate open communication.
- Manage comprehensive training projects that includes the development of a project plan, communication plan, and implementation plan for one or more annual initiatives.
- Ensure training is completed timely, as scheduled.
- Identify, create and implement enhanced cross-training and on-going experiences for existing Advisors in support of an Advisor's career development goals. Coordinate and maintain scheduled continued learning sessions for all branch Advisors.
- Provide branches with support on issues relating to branch operational needs, sales originations, compliance requirements, cash and proof work balancing and customer service needs. Provide timely and specific resolutions when presented with concerns, issues and out of balance conditions in the branches.

- High School education or equivalent required; 4 year degree in relevant field preferred
- 5+ years retail banking experience preferred with broad knowledge of banking concepts (deposits, consumer lending, IRAs, trust, etc.)
- 3+ years training and development experience; demonstrated knowledge of various learning methods
- Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to read, process, understand and apply written training material content to daily activity
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and a wide range of procedure requiring sound judgement
- Above average computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with training methods such as classroom, virtual, e-learning, simulations, mentoring, coaching, etc.
